ACCESS Bus Rides
An effort that started on a shoestring budget in 1987, with a VISTA volunteer driving seniors to medical appointments in an old van, has grown into one of King County’s major transportation programs.
Solid Ground Transportation (SGT) provides ACCESS bus services to people who cannot use Metro’s fixed-route system, helping people get to critically needed health and human services resources, and connecting people with their communities. SGT vehicles are fully accessible, equipped with lifts for loading passengers with wheelchairs and other mobility devices, and the space to accommodate multiple passengers. Service is available 7 days a week, 24 hours a day.
Seattle Downtown Circulator Bus
SGT’s fixed-route, 7-stop Circulator provides FREE rides for people living on low incomes and those who access health and human services in downtown Seattle.
Piloted in 2012 when budget cuts eliminated the former King County Metro Bus free ride zone, the Circulator offers a transportation alternative in an expanded service area.
