Here’s what 266 hours of community care looks like

What we choose to do with our limited time each day says everything about who we are and what we care about.

When nearly 100 volunteers spent three hours of their Friday morning last month spreading mulch, pulling weeds, and wiping down transit vehicles, it sent a clear message: This is a community where we care about our neighbors.

From Sand Point to South Park, Solid Ground volunteers at this year’s Day of Service spent a cumulative 266 hours:

Tending vegetable beds at Marra Farm.

Cleaning up public spaces at Magnuson Park.

Refreshing the ACCESS buses that community members ride to get where the need to go.

The result was community impact you could see in the spaces that we made more vibrant, verdant, and welcoming. But it was also a day of community investment that you could feel – in friendships made, laughter shared, and common goals achieved.
