Learn how to speak up!
Join the Seattle Human Services Coalition (SHSC) and the Seattle/King County Coalition on Homelessness (SKCCH) for an IN-PERSON budget advocacy training.
This training is open to anyone who wants to raise their voice to make sure the City of Seattle and King County fund essential human services in this year’s budget. In this training, you’ll:
- Find out different ways to make your voice heard (it’s easy!).
- Learn how to help someone else speak up.
- Get a chance to practice different ways to take action.
This training is for you if you:
- Live or work in Seattle or King County and care about homelessness or human services.
- Are accessing housing, shelter, or other human services to help meet your basic needs.
- Work at an organization that serves people experiencing poverty or homelessness.
- Are a seasoned advocate, or if you’ve never done advocacy before!
Note: This in-person training will focus primarily on the Seattle Budget, but the advocacy skills you’ll learn are applicable to the King County budget and other policy issues that affect people experiencing poverty. Located on the lower level of Solid Ground’s Wallingford office, we’ll have food to share.
Can’t make it to the in-person training?
We’re also offering another ONLINE Budget Advocacy Training on Tuesday, October 22 at 10-11:30am. Make sure to register even if you can’t attend – we’ll share a recording after the training.
