Job Summary
The Digital Media Specialist will be responsible for creating and coordinating digital messaging campaigns and projects for Solid Ground. They collaborate on campaign strategy and that leadership on developing and publishing digital media assets to increase awareness of Solid Ground’s brand, key messages, and campaigns, with a primary emphasis on engaging donors, volunteers, and advocates. They collaborate across departments and programs in the agency. This position will create online and email campaigns in alignment with agency values, strategies, and initiatives. They capture and track public sentiment and interest in Solid Ground, build relationships with online followers and analyze and report on engagement.
Essential Responsibilities, Duties & Tasks
Social Media: Participate in the development of Solid Ground social media goals and strategies. Create, draft, and manage editorial calendar and content for each channel that works to support and align with goals and strategies for key agency initiatives and programs (e.g. Resource Development, etc.). Provide day to day management Solid Ground’s social media presence on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and identify other social media opportunities. Build relationships with Social Media stakeholders. Respond to and identify questions in social channels, as appropriate. Monitor social media channels for opportunities or emerging issues to escalate internally, as appropriate. Work with agency leaders to assess progress on key performance indicators using analytics tools, and provide actionable recommendations to continually improve communications efforts and strategies. Stay up to date on social media and digital media trends to inform decisions around how to better support Solid Ground’s mission. Train, advise and support other staff who participate in Solid Ground social media. Work with Communications Department and organization leadership members to develop and deliver instructional materials and presentations on social engagement philosophy, strategies and best practices. Produce monthly social engagement reports.
Email Marketing Program: Coordinate all aspects of Solid Ground’s email blast program, including participation in the development of goals and key performance indicators. Copywriting and content development to promote key messages and strategies. Collaborate with Communications and Resource Development and program staff to improve list development, segmentation, and targeting to better engage stakeholders. Track, analyze and report results. Stay up to date on email best practices for education, solicitation, and activation strategies and tactics as it relates to email marketing. Track changes to MailChimp and other email client platforms and opportunities to further Solid Ground’s mission.
Design: Conceptualize the creation of infographics and other design resources to support Solid Ground messaging and meet marketing and campaign goals. Work with contracted graphic designer and/or create original designs.
Other: Participate in departmental, program and agency meetings and relevant training as required, including the cross-agency Communications Functional Leadership Team. Represent Communications in meetings throughout the agency.
