Healthy breakfasts feed successful students.
Hungry kids face extra and unnecessary struggles in school. Washington state ranks 43 out of 50 states in serving breakfast to students of families living on low incomes.
School breakfast legislation will require very high-need schools to offer breakfast in the classroom, grab-and-go food, and second chance breakfast to almost 175,000 students of families living on low incomes. In addition, it will clarify the use of instructional time so that any school can serve breakfast after the bell.
