The federal government is considering harmful policies that would destabilize hundreds of thousands of people at risk of homelessness through plans to limit our region’s use of federal Housing and Urban Development (HUD) funds.* In the next seven weeks, Seattle and King County lawmakers are deciding their budgets. Join Solid Ground and the Seattle/King County Coalition on Homelessness (SKCCH) in urging our local lawmakers to invest in protecting housing for our neighbors in the budget!
No one should fall into homelessness because of federal budget cuts, especially our neighbors who have finally secured permanent housing after experiencing homelessness. Seattle and King County Councilmembers should use this budget process to BUILD A PLAN to keep people stably housed and continue to invest in permanent housing strategies. Urge local lawmakers to protect people’s housing stability as a top budget priority!
Anyone in Seattle or King County should take this action. Please join us in advocacy and share with others. Together, we can weather this storm!
