
Solid Ground works to ensure that social and government policies are more responsive to the realities people with low incomes face in King County and across Washington State. We actively engage the communities we serve to get involved to undo racism and break down other barriers that perpetuate poverty.

Initiative works to undo racism by identifying and addressing institutional practices and policies that are barriers to the full participation of people of color in our society.
- ConnectUp helps people access free/subsidized cellphone, landline and internet programs; education and outreach on low-income telecommunications programs; free Community Voice Mail numbers; and Resource Broadcasting about jobs, housing, healthcare and social services.
- Family Assistance helps families obtain and retain public assistance.
- Penny Harvest involves, engages and inspires young people to address community needs through philanthropy and service learning.
- Statewide Poverty Action Network is an alliance of individuals and organizations across Washington State advocating for public policies that eliminate the root causes of poverty.
