JourneyHome (formerly the Solid Ground program) provides long-term case management, transitional housing, and permanent housing placement assistance for homeless families with children throughout King County. Case managers work with each family to provide thorough intake and assessment, and develop both short- and long-term family goal plans that address the barriers preventing families from accessing
and maintaining permanent housing.
We also have access to approximately 35 units of transitional housing throughout the county that are available exclusively for JourneyHome families. Our housing search staff works with families to help them find permanent, affordable housing. The program also has flexible funding to help with move-in expenses, debt repayment, transportation needs, furniture, and other expenses related to finding employment and housing.
Referral Process: JourneyHome accepts referrals via two methods:
For referrals for JourneyHome Rental Assistance (short-term rental subsidies) or Rapid Rehousing programs at Solid Ground, you must complete an assessment through King County’s Coordinated Entry and Assessment system via Family Housing Connection. Family Housing Connection provides a single access point for shelter and housing resources. If you are pregnant or an adult with at least one child in your care and do not have a place to stay, schedule an appointment by calling 2.1.1 or 1.800.621.4636 to:

Receive a follow up phone call when a housing resource becomes available
