Facing increasing costs and decreasing revenues, Solid Ground closed our Home Care program on December 31, 2008. In the fall of 2008, Solid Ground negotiated with other area home care providers and the union that represented our community aides to create a seamless transition of services for clients and staff well in advance of the program closure date. Solid Ground's former Community Aides and Home Care clients were able to continue working together by moving to the following two local Home Care Providers:

- Caregiver tips: If you provide care for a sick friend or loved one, an elderly relative, partner or friend with AIDS, cancer, or some other disabling condition, these tips can provide emotional support, practical help, and a sense of community.
- The Health Cares Exchange Initiative's mission is to create supportive inclusive networks for caregivers, including AIDS caregivers, in diversely affected geographic areas and then foster information and personnel exchanges between them. HCEI works to encourage caregiver collaboration, enhance community-based care, and educate caregivers about stress management.
