   ConnectUp logo

ConnectUp is a communication hub for people living on low incomes in King County. We help people access voicemail and other connections to the services they need to find housing and employment, and stay in touch with their communities. We also broadcast information about available community resources to end poverty.

PROGRAM UPDATE: As of 6/30/15, ConnectUp is no longer providing information and referral on phone and internet discount programs. InterConnection now hosts the online  phone and internet discount information that ConnectUp used to provide. Please call 2-1-1 if you need help accessing phone and/or internet discounts. (For more information on this transition, see our 6/8 Resource Wire message.)

Community Voice Mail

Community Voice Mail provides people in need with their own private phone number. Community Voice Mail sounds just like a typical voice mail, allowing users to leave a personalized greeting for callers. Getting messages is easy: Simply dial the number from any phone, press star and enter a passcode. Users can hear messages 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Numbers are available in King County area codes 206, 253 and 425. Voice mail prompts can also be set to Spanish.

Community Voice Mail is available over the phone or in person at Solid Ground. Just call 206.694.6744, Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm. You’ll answer a few questions, and we will assign you a number and explain how to set up your voice mail. Once you record your name, greeting and password, your voice mail is ready to use. Community Voice Mail is also available at many participating agencies in King County.

All Community Voice Mail users receive weekly Resource Wire messages on employment opportunities, housing resources, healthcare and social services.

ConnectUp is part of the Springwire national federation, which provides Community Voice Mail through nearly 2,000 social service agency partners across the US and Canada.

The Resource Wire is a collaborative program that each week delivers vetted, timely and relevant resources and information to individuals with low incomes and social service providers in a variety of formats including email, blog, voice mail, Facebook and Twitter. This information is designed to provide opportunities for action – getting a job, securing housing, accessing healthcare and social services, and learning about community events and resources.

Anyone can sign up to receive the Resource Wire via email or text to get connected with useful and relevant community resources. You can also view the Resource Wire on our blog or Facebook account, or by following our Twitter handle. Community Voice Mail users automatically receive Resource Wire messages directly on their voicemail.

ConnectUp provides Resource Wire in partnership with Springwire.
