Bowl-a-thon

Bowl to Feed Hungry Kids

In our community, thousands of families struggle to provide food for their children. Hungry kids suffer from ill-health, have more difficulties in school and are more likely to remain impoverished. Solid Ground's Food Security for Children program helps food banks throughout Seattle to better meet the needs of hungry families with young children. It distributes toddler nutrition kits, enriched infant formula and other resources, information and supplies to help end childhood hunger.

The Strike Out Hunger Bowl-a-thon raises money to help Food Security for Children feed thousands of infants and toddlers, as well as supporting other Solid Ground efforts to end poverty.

When: Saturday April 26, 2008 (bowl at 4:30 pm or 7 pm)

Where: West Seattle Bowl (4505 39th Ave SW, Seattle, WA, 98116)

Who: YOU! and a group of friends, colleagues and/or family members!

How to Register: Contact Anna Ramos, 206.694.6857, annar@solid-ground.org

Now in its 4th year, the Bowl-a-thon is a great way to engage people in working against hunger. We also promise that you will have a great time! Each bowler who raises over $150 will win a special prize. Trophies are awarded to teams for Best Team Spirit (costumes help!), Most Awareness Generated (number of donors) and Most Hungry Kids Fed (dollars raised). We also welcome your donations of diapers, formula and jar food.

If you would like to make a credit card gift to support a bowler, please go to our bowl-a-thon donation page. A new window will open in your browser that will take you to our secure donation pages. You will be asked to complete a registration screen, then make your gift, which will be credited to your favorite bowler.
