WHAT:
Join staff, volunteers, donors, gardeners and community members for Squashing Hunger, a family-friendly event.

• Tour Marra Farm.
• Sample tasty snacks.

• Give to support Lettuce Link! 

WHO:
All proceeds benefit Lettuce Link, a Solid Ground program that has been squashing hunger since 1988! From the seed of a great idea, Lettuce Link has blossomed into the largest provider of fresh organic produce to Seattle’s emergency food system.
In the past year we:

• Coordinated the distribution of nearly 45,000 pounds of produce to food banks.
• Provided seeds, starts and gardening education to more than 900 families with low incomes — so they can feed themselves.
• Involved 50 P-Patches, hundreds of backyard gardeners and dozens of volunteers in addressing hunger in our community.
• Salvaged 11,000 pounds of fruit from neighborhood trees through the Community Fruit Tree Harvest project.

HOW:
There are several ways you can support Lettuce Link:

• Attend Squashing Hunger!
• Order a Lettuce Link Tote Bag! $20 each, and roomy enough to hold a large bag of groceries. Supply is limited; contact us to order yours today at lettucelink@solid-ground.org or 206.694.6754.
• Donate: If you would like to make a gift to support the program, please go to Lettuce Link’s donation page.
• Subscribe to Edible Seattle, a quarterly magazine, and you can designate Lettuce Link as one of three optional beneficiaries of an $8 donation taken from the subscription cost (for new subscribers).
• Volunteer: Lettuce Link’s success depends on our fabulous volunteers. We can always use organic gardening help at Marra Farm.
