SEATTLE MUSICIANS HELPING HOMELESS FAMILIES
The 5th Annual Songs for Shelter benefit was held Thurs., December 16, 2010, from 7 - 9:30pm at Egan’s Ballard Jam House, (1707 NW Market Street, in Seattle's Ballard neighborhood). The suggested $10 donation supported Solid Ground's programs serving homeless families.
The Songs for Shelter concert series originated with a CD project and release party in 2005 (available on CD Baby). Paul Benoit, one of the original Songs for Shelter musicians, took on organizing annual encore events. Since 2005, Songs for Shelter has raised more than $20,000 to help homeless families regain stability.
Local artist (^ Brian Prosser came to the Songs for Shelter benefit and drew some amazing images of the performers. We’ve taken the drawings and a few audio clips from the show and made a little video tribute to the performers:
