Gift Needs
  

Lettuce Link (an innovative food and gardening program) has some specific in-kind needs:

  • Compost: 50 yards needed
  • Seeds: Beet and spinach seeds especially needed
  • A team of skilled carpenters to build the overhead structures at the Seattle Community Farm.
  • Ongoing: Gardening Wish List: Lettuce Link and its Community Fruit Tree Harvest, Marra Farm Giving Garden and Seattle Community Farm projects are grateful for donations of gently used (unless otherwise noted) or new items.

Broadview: Our Broadview Emergency Shelter & Transitional Housing program residents are homeless women and their children.

  • Halloween costumes for kids, sizes 5-14.
  • Cell phones with chargers for residents who do not already have a cell phone to use as a safety tool. (Please note that without chargers, we are unable to use cell phone donations.)
  • Family DVDs
  • Digital camera & photo printer
  • DVD player
  • Gift cards to learning stores (e.g. Math ‘n’ Stuff, Lakeshore Learning)
  • Gift cards to bookstores for curriculum supplies (e.g., Barnes & Noble)
  • Art supplies or gift cards to Michaels
  • Large-capacity crock pots & large buffet servers
  • Wii

Family Shelter: Our Family Shelter program residents are homeless parents and their children.

  • Twin & full sheet sets (fitted sheet & flat sheet) **
  • Twin & full size comforters, quilts or blankets **
  •  Bath towels, hand towels & washcloths **
  • Kitchen towels **
  • Oven mitts & potholders
  • Glasses & cups (no mugs)
  • Bowls
  • New mops & brooms
  • Toilet paper
  • Liquid dish soap
  •  Unscented laundry soap (often called "free & clear" or for "sensitive skin," etc.)
  • New or gently used pots, pans & baking dishes

**All linens must be new or very gently used (if used, must be clean and folded, from pet-free, smoke-free homes). To make a donation, please contact Theresa Curry at 206.694.6758 or theresac@solid-ground.org.

Food Security for Children: Our FSC program always needs food, clothing and toys for infants and young children. Please see our detailed list of frequently-needed kids' items or contact the program at 206.694.6755 or fsc@solid-ground.org.

    Sand Point Housing: Approximately 125 children live at Solid Ground’s Brettler Family Place at Sand Point Housing, and 63% are school age.
