Did you know...
- 8,439 people are homeless in King County (according to last year’s One Night Count).
- 5,808 of the homeless are in shelters and transitional programs – and 50% of people living in shelters are children ages 0-17.
- This year, foreclosures in King County are up 84% over this time last year.

Solid Ground will address these problems by building 106 units of affordable housing for 72 families and 34 individuals! We broke ground on April 15, 2010.
"New housing at Sand Point fits right into the goals of the 10-Year Plan to End Homelessness. It's fantastic to see Solid Ground doing more to help our community end homelessness!"
~ Dan Brettler, Car Toys CEO &
Committee to End Homelessness
in King County Co-Chair

Building a great place to live for people who need a home
Solid Ground is building 106
new housing units at Sand Point for formerly homeless people – helping fulfill Seattle’s ongoing vision to reuse the Sand Point Naval Station. Combined with the 94 existing transitional housing units in renovated Navy buildings, there will be
a total of 200 housing units at Sand Point by 2012. The 106 new units will provide permanent housing and support services for hardworking families and individuals overcoming homelessness.
