JustServe AmeriCorps is a collaborative project between Solid Ground, the Corporation for National and Community Service, Seattle Police Department and frontline anti-violence organizations to address and prevent violence in our community.
Our mission is to create a just and safe community, by engaging national service volunteers in critical violence prevention efforts throughout Seattle/King County. As a program of Solid Ground, we focus our national service resources on addressing violence issues that perpetuate poverty in our community.

JustServe partners with community-based organizations, faith-based organizations, local schools and public agencies to:
In exchange for a year of service, JustServe AmeriCorps Members receive a basic living stipend (approximately $990/month) and a $4,725 post-secondary educational award.
Solid Ground places JustServe AmeriCorps Members in the Seattle Police Department and approximately 20 other public agencies, community-based organizations, faith-based organizations, and middle and high schools throughout Seattle/King County to:
- Provide positive skill building activities for more than 500 youth who are involved in, or at risk of becoming involved in the Criminal Justice System.
- Provide early intervention, advocacy and support to more than 500 victim/survivors of domestic violence, hate crimes and other violent crimes.
- Provide mentoring, resources and support to more than 50 individuals who are transitioning back into the community, after incarceration — and their children and families.
- Provide outreach about gun violence, gang violence, domestic/dating violence, sexual assault, hate crimes, elder abuse, child abuse and other local violence issues — to help more than 500 youth and adult community members gain information and skills to prevent victimization.
- Recruit, train and support more than 300 youth and adult volunteers to contribute more than 5,000 hours of service to public safety efforts throughout Seattle/King County. More than 50% of these volunteers will be baby boomer aged individuals.
